The Jbn Sound Wall
The Jbn Sound Wall employs Plane Wave Technology (PWT) to achieve significant attenuation of bass frequencies from the hotel. Unlike traditional bass speakers, which disperse sound omnidirectionally—often leading to noise complaints from neighbors—PWT uses hundreds of identical speakers working in unison to create focused directivity in low-frequency sound. This targeted approach results in a remarkable reduction in sound pressure levels (SPL) to the sides of the system, minimising disturbance to surrounding areas.
The Jbn Sound Wall has been fully installed at the Osbourne Hotel in Brisbane—the first venue in the country to benefit from this cutting-edge technology. Imagine dancing in front of 376 speakers at 100dB on the dance floor, and then stepping just 1.5 meters to the side, where sound levels drop by 15dB, allowing for easy conversation at the bar. The system delivers consistent sound levels across impressive distances directly in front of the wall.
